Aunty's Adventure

Good morning! I am rested and looking forward to my pampering later today....cuz after yesterday I was one tiiiired aunty! I won't give it all away but will give you this thought to ponder - Now that they have mastered the walking part, why do they now want to be carried - ALWAYS! I love him to the ends of the earth and back but MY back can't do that. Guess I need to work on getting in better shape - thinkin' about it ain't making it happen! hahahahahaha

Home from Colorado

48 hours... that is how long I was on the ground in Colorado. We had to get busy with so much to do in so little time.

As soon as we left the airport we headed to downtown Denver to see the nightlife. We aren't much for the club scene, however, with a new club opening MHA thought we should try it. I think the name of the club was "Level - Where Rock and Roll Lives". We still are not sure what kind of rock it was but we do know we were at least 15 years too old to be there! After we stopped laughing we headed over to an Irish pub called Fado's. That was much more our speed and they had the best apple martinis. MHA's sister joined us and we had a great night of laughter.

Saturday morning we were up and at 'em bright and early, with little kids in the house there is no such thing as sleeping in. We packed up all our snow stuff and headed to Keystone to go tubing. Heading toward the mountains we encountered all sorts of weather. Sunny and warm in Denver, snowy and whiteout in some spots on the mountain, I think it might have even rained. When we arrived at Keystone all the free parking was full so we decided to go to the pay lot. The key word is "PAY", $25.00 for the day (except we were only there for a few hours). Auntie thought she should at least get a kiss with that screw!

We (Auntie and me) realized very soon that we were in the high country. I am not in bad shape but I should be able to at least walk across the parking lot without losing my breath! We took the gondola (even higher) to the tubing hill. On the way up the gondola stopped ( I am sure it was so we could enjoy the view) for about 5 minutes. Auntie then tried to figure out if we were really stuck how we would get out. Thankfully we started moving again because Auntie had decided that she would just cannonball jump into the snow below, if necessary.

When we arrived at the top we were in for a real treat. It had stopped snowing, the sun was out and the tubes were aired up! We had an absolute blast tubing!!! An hour is plenty of time in that altitude (12,200ft ABOVE sea level). We headed back down the hill, thankfully without the scenery stop. Shopped a bit, shopping is what Auntie and I do best. Since MHA grew up there she doesn't really need souvenirs.

Idaho Springs and Beau Jo's pizza was our next stop. It was nice to have a yummy meal and good conversation. I must say the people watching was at an all time high! Then we headed back to MHA's childhood home to see Grammy and Plus 1. Plus 1 was really happy to see Mommy! After such a busy day and late night on Friday, we decided to stay in and catch up on sleep.

Sunday we woke up a bit later. We had plenty of time to do the site seeing and shopping. We headed out to see all the sporting venues: Coors Field, Pepsi Center and Mile High Stadium. I will never be a Broncos fan but I can appreciate the stadium. It was really fun to see all the sculptures around Denver. I really loved the monster mouth guard and chin strap outside Mile High Stadium.

Casa Bonita was next on our site seeing tour. I am happy to say that I have been there and done that. It was fun, the food was..... Any restaurant that has gift shop is something that you have to see, and after watching the "South Park" episode you must stop by if you are in the neighborhood, and if you are in the neighborhood I hope that you are only there for Casa Bonita!!

Plus 1 was ready for a nap so off to the other side of town we went. Auntie and I had one last "must" on our list. Archiver's!!! A huge scrapbook store. I think I would fly to Denver just to go there! We shopped while MHA went to get Grammy's minivan washed. (Yes, I said MHA was driving a minivan, I won't even tell you what the vanity plate said!) Auntie and I shopped to our heart's content! Then we were off to the 16th street mall to finish shopping. Yes Auntie and I love to shop!

When we finished we had a few minutes left to pack the car and say our goodbyes and then off to the airport. On the plane and a few tears later and we were all napping. Arriving in Seattle shortly after 11pm. Our Girls weekend was over and it was snowing in Seattle ( Denver was sunny and 60).

Can't wait 'til our next trip. :)

Let the adventure begin

This week many things are happening with the Amigas. First tomorrow is Bruthr's birthday. We celebrated on Sunday with a family dinner at our house. Mile High made not fried fried ice cream. To her credit she was really busy babysitting and did not even know if she was going to make it to family dinner. Bruthr got some really cool gifts.

The reason that we celebrated on Sunday: Auntie and MH left tonight with Plus 1 to Denver. Since tomorrow is Bruthrs birthday I am not joining them in Denver til Friday.

The trip was Auntie's idea. She said she wanted to run away and you know we were not going to let her run alone! I just dropped them at the airport a mear hour ago and am already lonely with out them! Ok I think I can survive 48 hours but still. I cant wait to join them and have some girl time. There is so much planned I dont know if I will sleep.

I will try blogging from my Blackberry while we are there. The pictures probably wont be up til we get back unless I can get Baby Daddy to post them for me.

Weekly (???) Family Dinner

Tonight was weekly family dinner night. The Amigas have had quite a trying week and Baby Daddy was just returning from a business trip. So I thought we could use some comfort food and Baby Daddy really wanted a home cooked meal. So we had Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy and Corn Cassarole (which was really good and Auntie made it).

After dinner we discovered that Plus 1 had turned the kitchen into the new play room. While he happily played we sat and talked and laughed! We laugh alot when we are together. That is what makes

it so much fun. Plus 1 was on the constant look out for "Mommy" who was right where he left her sitting on the couch. After his bath, sistr found his feet and tickled them alot. Bruthr chased him while he laughed. He and Auntie played hockey with soft footballs. Silly I know but that is how we are silly.

Mile High made a homemade blueberry sour cream cheese cake, with store bought crust. We all enjoyed eating that... well everyone but Plus 1. He spit it all out... guess he doesnt like sour cream.

Can't wait til next family dinner... Bruthr's birthday!

Family Dinner

MHA and me cooking dinner in Aunties kitchen. Auntie does not cook but does a nice job of shopping for the everything we needed to have a great fajitas. She did chop the onions, warm the beans and make some yummy spanish rice.

It all ended with Auntie scaring Plus 1 when she turned on the "bubbles" in the tub. Poor Plus 1 he almost pooped his... well he wasnt wearing pants but you get the picture. We all laughed at him. He quickly forgave us when he found out there was "chocleete" cake and ice cream!

We all had a great time. Baby Daddy, Bruthr and Sistr were happy to eat food that MHA did not burn. :)

I think that we should make our family dinners a weekly affair. It is great to have friends that you consider family!

Everyone loves a little birthday fun. Mine came in the way of flour and syrup on the driveway. Silly string and window paint on the deck and lots of love from my amigas! Thanks girls for making my day special!

Seperate Ways

This morning AA took MA to the airport at 4am. MA had to go out of town on a business trip.MHA stayed at home in bed while the 2 amigas were having their own "on the way to the airport party". I am sure it had something to do with plus 1 sleeping or at least that is what she will have us believe. Now MHA is at the doctor,AA is sleeping and the lone MA is sitting on the floor at the Vegas airport typing this blog. For the record I did gamble a bit... Not much mind you as I am not good at it but did play a WHOPPING $3 on the nickle slots! I am off to Tucson in a few. I will be eating tacos and basking in the sun in a matter of hours. They all think I am on a business trip! They are soooo silly!

Yesterday, two amigas, MA and AA, spent the afternoon together watching the NHL All-Star game with MA's family. It was very relaxing and alot of fun for two reasons: MA's family is very relaxed and we all had Carl's Jr. for lunch! Meanwhile, MHA was galavanting around BC. You see, MHA was the only one of the 3Aplus1 who could go on the weekender 'cuz, well, life sometimes throws things at you and if you don't get out of the way fast enough it'll hit you and then you have to deal with it. So, MHA was in BC for a hockey game and sleepover. She was kind enough to keep us up to date with texting and video messages. (Gotta luv the new technology!) She, however, was having sooo much fun that she couldn't possibly pull herself away from the Great White North to join the other 2 amigas for another hockey game and relaxing fun. Did I mention there were prizes - but you had to be there to win. She lost!!! hahahahahaha..... Anyway, she did make it back and now life is as normal as it can be with three CRAZY amigas plus1... who is so dang cute it should be illegal. I think I need some plus1 time....

So the elusive amiga writes...... I am going to bed now after an eveing of work. So there. I finally posted something.

More on Mysterious Women

We have a friend who we include in our posse. We don't have any pictures of the 4+1 'cause she lives far away......in another country, would you believe! I could Photoshop something but that would mean I 'd have to know how to use Photoshop. And that wouldn't be entirely honest. And being honest is how I earned the other nickname 'holier than thou!' We will all get together soon and have photos of that to prove it. In the meantime, the mystery woman will just have to remain that.....mysterious. Look for future posts to update the information on our mysterious amiga. Until then.... hasta la vista!

Football Sunday

So today the 3 amigas plus 1 gathered to watch the SD Chargers lose, pitifully, to the Pittsburgh Steelers. I felt terrible cuz 1 amiga's husband and son were really hoping SD would pull off a win! I say there is always next year. It was more fun to hang out and visit although I tried not to talk too much while football was being played cuz I know how males like to have it quiet while action is happening! sorry amiga's hubby and son if I was too talky. There is nothing like spending a lazy Sunday with your best amigas and their families. Thanks for 'adopting' me! Luv you guys, Aunty Amiga!

2 Amigas Dine with plus 1

When the evening started with 1 Amiga calling in sick to the 3 Amigas plus 1 dinner I should have seen this as a sign of what was to come for the evening. I am feeling almost 100% better but it seem that Aunty has now come down with what I had (Sorry ). The Amiga with the plus 1 arrived at the resturant on her own time. When I attemped to say hi to plus 1 he would not even look at me.

Then after an eventful dinner of "means" (beans) and "yum yums" (M&M's). We were feeling a bit better and in a decent enough mood to watch plus 1's sister play soccer for 5 minutes.
<<<<--------------- 5 minutes was all we got before "Captian Pissy Pants" arrived!!! It was one thing or the other but there was no making him happy. The real meltdown came when the lid to the "yum yums" came off and they went all over the floor. I think that is when everyone at the soccer game was wishing that we woud do anything to make him stop.











So I guess that the one Amiga home with the flu may have had more fun than the 2 Amigas plus 1 tonight. On a happy note the food was good and Plus 1's sister won her game 6-0

The lone Amiga

2 amigas plus 1 went to dinner tonight.Mexican food was the choice. They did this knowing full well that the 1 lone amiga was in bed with the flu. So here I sit in bed while they are out having fun! I have sent the one with the plus numerous text messages to only be ignored.

On a happy note, my oldest just came in to tell us that she "lettered" in academics! She is only a sophmore!

Silvertips VS. Tbird first game in Kent

WOW! What an awesome time we had last night. It was the first game for the Seattle Thunderbirds in thier new arena in Kent (does that still make them the Seattle Thunderbirds?).






Aunty Amiga decided that since it was the first game in a new barn then we need to go in style and get a limo. Which we "TIPPED" out!

We went to dinner at an amazing place in Kirkland on the water. Bluwater Bistro. We were early so there weren't many people there. The food was great.
